FAQ
Backing tracks
What is a backing track?
It is a version of a song with the vocals removed and only the music left, so you can sing along yourself. Backing tracks on Khugjim.com are made with AI.
A backing track is also called an instrumental, a karaoke version or a minus-one: the song with the lead vocal removed. In Mongolian it is “фонограм” (fonogram).
What format do I get?
MP3, 320 kbps. It plays on phones, computers and karaoke machines.
Can I listen from the middle of a song without waiting?
Yes. Click or drag on the player bar to listen from any point. The current time is shown next to it.
What if the vocals are not fully removed or the quality is poor?
Separation quality differs from song to song. Open “Report a problem” at the bottom of the song page, choose “Vocals are still audible” or “Poor quality” and send it.
Can I install it on my phone as an app?
Yes. Once installed it opens from your home screen like an app; there is nothing to download from an app store.
Android (Chrome): tap “Install as an app” at the bottom of the page. If you do not see the button, open the Chrome menu (⋮) → “Add to Home screen” / “Install app”.
iPhone (Safari): tap the “Share” button at the bottom → “Add to Home Screen”.
Can I use the site in another language?
Yes. Choose your language from the globe menu in the top bar or at the very bottom of the page: Монгол, English, Русский, 中文, 한국어. Menus, explanations and messages appear in the language you choose; song titles and artist names stay as they are. Your choice is kept as you move between pages.
Finding and ordering songs
The song I searched for says “On request”. What does that mean?
It means the backing track for that song is not in the library yet. Open the song page and press “Make backing track”; it is usually ready in 1–3 minutes. Once made, a backing track stays in the library and is available to the next person immediately.
Where can I see which songs are available?
The All songs page lists popular Mongolian songs, most popular first. Songs with a green light are ready to listen to and download. For a song marked “On request”, open its page and press “Make backing track”; it will be ready in 1–3 minutes. Click an artist name on a song page to see all of that artist’s songs, including collaborations. Songs that are not on the list can be found with search and ordered.
Children's songs (for kindergarten and school events), celebration songs and dance music each have their own page: Children's songs, Celebration songs, Dance music.
What is the “Listen to the song first” button for?
One song can have many versions. Before ordering a backing track, listen to the original with vocals (the first 60 seconds) to check it is exactly the song you were looking for. If it is, press “Make backing track”.
What if it says the song cannot be made?
Songs longer than 10 minutes and some recordings cannot be processed. Try choosing another version of the song from the search results.
How many songs can I order and download per day?
To keep the service stable, you can order 10 new backing tracks and download 30 times per day.
Free MP3
How do I download the audio of a video as MP3 from its link?
Open “YouTube to MP3” in the top menu, paste the video link and press “Download MP3”. The file usually starts downloading by itself after 10–40 seconds. It is free and needs no sign-up. You can convert 10 videos per day, each up to 10 minutes long; playlists and live streams are not supported.
What if downloading by link says “Download failed”?
Check that the link is complete and correct, then try again. Private, age-restricted or deleted videos cannot be downloaded.
I do not have a link. Can I find a song by name and download it?
Yes. Open “Free MP3” in the top menu, type the song title or artist name and search, then press “Download MP3” on the song you want. There is also a “Download as a free MP3” link at the bottom of each backing track page. A song that is not in the library yet is prepared first (10–30 seconds) and downloads by itself when ready. You can download 10 songs per day.
How is a free MP3 different from a backing track? What quality is it?
A free MP3 is the unchanged song with its vocals (MP3 192 kbps). A backing track is the version with the vocals removed, and only backing tracks can be re-keyed and trimmed.
Key and trimming
What is the key? How do I adjust it?
The key is how high or low the song is. The key that suits the original singer may be too high or too low for you. If the song is too high to sing, press “−” to lower it; if it is too low, press “+” to raise it. You can change it from −6 to +6; the tempo does not change.
Change it by 1–2 steps, listen to the 30-second clip, sing along and pick the key that fits.
How do I cut off a logo, talking or extra parts at the start of a song?
On the page of a ready backing track, open “Trim start and end”. You will see the waveform: low parts are silence or quiet sections. Click the waveform to listen, then press “Start here” at the point where it should begin and “End here” where it should stop. The “Download MP3” button then gives you the trimmed version.
Payment
How much does it cost? How do I pay?
One backing track costs 4,900₮. Searching, listening to the 30-second clip and trying different keys are free. Press “Get backing track” on the song page and a QPay QR code appears: scan it with your bank app, or choose your bank if you are on a phone. The download button appears as soon as the payment is confirmed.
Ordering a song that is not in the library is free too: once it is ready, listen and try different keys, and pay only if you like it. The price is the same for every song; there is nothing to negotiate in chat.
Can I download a backing track I paid for again?
Yes. Open the song page again on the device and browser you paid from and the download button is there straight away. Changing the key or trimming and downloading again costs nothing extra.
I paid but the download button does not appear.
Check that you are using the browser you paid from and reload the page. The purchase will not show on another phone, another browser or in a private window. If that does not help, open “Report a problem” on the song page, choose “Other” and write to us.
Usage
Can I use a backing track for a performance or a recording?
Please use it for practice and personal use. For public performance, recording, broadcast or commercial use, you are responsible for getting permission from the rights holders. See the Terms of use for details.
Where can I see news? How can I contact you?
See new features and news on our Facebook page. You can send questions and suggestions there by message. Problems with a particular song are solved fastest if you send them through “Report a problem” on the song page.
